Our Meals on Wheels services provides clients with nutritious meals, socialization, wellness checks and community connections. We serve some of the most vulnerable populations: seniors and those with disabilities, most of who are very low-income and food insecure.

Our Meals on Wheels program serves two meals, one home-cooked TV dinner and one bagged lunch, to each client Monday through Friday.

We serve the Greater Hazelwood community of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
About our service area
Hazelwood is a low-income area with low supermarket access. In 2017, 15-22% of Hazelwood and 34% of Glen Hazel were considered food insecure versus the 13.1% considered to be so in Allegheny County.
According to the 2010 Hazelwood Census:
- 45% of Hazelwood’s population was African American compared to 26% of the City’s population.
- 52% percent of Hazelwood households earned less than $30,000 per year on average compared to 43% of City households.
- 16% of Hazelwood households had an annual income below $10,000.
